Empowered Mindset Series: The Power of Women Who Lift Others Up

It’s International Women’s Day, and as I blast my ultimate playlist of female anthems, I can’t help but reflect on the powerhouse women who have shaped my journey. These are the women who show up, step up, and lift others up—whether in the boardroom, at the kitchen table, or just by being their unapologetically awesome selves.

I’ve had the privilege of working alongside, learning from, and laughing (and sometimes venting) with remarkable women—leaders, colleagues, friends, and mentors—who have redefined what leadership looks like. Spoiler alert: It’s not about titles or power moves. It’s about authenticity, impact, and making sure there’s always room at the table for others.

And then there’s my greatest inspiration of all—my mom. The original powerhouse who, through her words and actions, taught me what it means to dream boldly, believe in myself, and achieve on my own terms (hence my tagline for Empowered2Thrive 😉). Basically, she was empowering before it was trendy!

So today, I raise my coffee (let’s be real, espresso martini 🍸) to all the women who inspire, lead, and empower others just by being who they are.

“Great leaders don’t just lead; they lift others up.”

Lessons from the Women Who Inspire Me

While I won’t name names (because some of the most inspiring leaders I know would never seek the spotlight…you know who you are because I’ve told you!), I do want to share the invaluable lessons they’ve imparted along the way.

✨ Authenticity Wins Every Time. Hands Down.

The women who have left the biggest impact on me are the ones who never tried to be anyone but themselves. They own their strengths, embrace their quirks, and never dim their light to make others comfortable. That kind of courage is contagious.

Like the women leaders who jumped on stage for karaoke (off-key, just like me), danced like no one was watching right alongside me, or fearlessly shared their most hilariously embarrassing videos with their teams—just to remind everyone that leadership isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being real. They show up unapologetically, and the world can deal.

✨ Lead with Purpose and Compassion

The best leaders I’ve worked with don’t just focus on outcomes—they focus on people. They set high expectations, but they also create space for others to thrive. They know that leadership isn’t just about hitting targets; it’s about empowering the people who make those results happen.

These women lead with a rare blend of strength and empathy—knowing when to push forward and when to pause and listen. They celebrate wins, acknowledge challenges, and make sure their teams feel valued, supported, and seen.

And here’s the real magic: their leadership doesn’t just inspire confidence—it creates ripples of impact. When people feel empowered, they don’t just work harder; they bring their best ideas, take more ownership, and pay it forward to others. That’s what leading with purpose and compassion looks like in action. 💡✨

✨ Confidence is Built, Not Given.

I’ve watched incredible women step into boardrooms, strategy sessions, and high-stakes negotiations—not because they always felt confident, but because they chose to show up anyway.

That’s the secret: confidence isn’t something you’re born with. It’s a muscle, and the more you use it, the stronger it gets.

Some of the most inspiring women I’ve worked with don’t just lead—they elevate those around them. They don’t hoard the spotlight or take credit for everything. Instead, they create opportunities for others to shine.

I remember one leader who made a lasting impact on me. Rather than presenting work she could have easily taken full credit for, she handed the floor to me, making sure my contributions were seen. It wasn’t about a power move; it was about empowering someone to grow in their own confidence. That moment stuck with me. The more you’re given those opportunities, the more you realize that confidence isn’t about knowing everything—it’s about trusting that what you bring to the table matters.

Great leaders don’t just lead; they lift others up. They see potential before we do, and they make sure we see it too.

✨ The Power of the Collective

The most inspiring women I know? They don’t just push through challenges alone—they know that we rise higher together. True leadership isn’t about doing everything yourself—it’s about knowing when to lean on your team and when to lift others up.

These women don’t try to power through alone—they build support systems, advocate for collaboration, and bring people along for the climb. Because they know one thing for sure: you’re only as strong as the people around you.

That’s not just resilience—it’s unstoppable strength in action. 💫🚀

A Special Tribute to My Mom:

The First Woman Who Empowered Me

From an early age, my mom instilled in me the belief that dreaming big was not just allowed—it was expected. She showed me that hope isn’t just wishful thinking; it’s the fuel that keeps us going. And most importantly, she taught me to believe in myself—because if you don’t, who will?

Her unwavering support, resilience, and boundless love shaped the way I approach life, leadership, and the way I empower others today.
